His strength in you life.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” - 2 Corinthians 12:9 His strength in you life.

Jesus Christ in the Old Testament
Joshua Old Testament people who foreshadowed Jesus Christ through the actions and events of their lives
3
Introduction In many ways Joshua’s life and experiences parallel the life and experiences of Jesus Christ. Joshua, whose Hebrew name is “Yoshea,” was one of the 12 spies that Moses sent to explore the land of Canaan.
4
Introduction Only he and Caleb encouraged the people to trust God and take possession of the land of Canaan, promised by God to Abraham. When Moses died, Joshua became the leader who brought Israel into the Promised Land of Canaan.

Joshua----------Christ
Joshua’s name is the same name as Jesus, only in the Hebrew. It is Yeshua, meaning “The Lord Saves.” Jesus’ name is the Greek form of the name “Yeshua.” His name means “The Lord Saves.” Matthew 1: She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

Joshua----------Christ
Joshua was God’s appointed prophetic leader to replace Moses. Jesus is God’s anointed leader who fulfilled Moses’ prophecy. Joshua 1:1-5 After the death of Moses, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide: 2 "Moses my servant is dead. Now then…As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Acts 3:22 For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.

Joshua parted the Jordan River to that Israel could cross on dry land. Jesus walked on water and called others to come over to Him. Joshua 3: Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God And as soon as the priests… set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off ." Matthew 14:25-29 During the night Jesus went… walking on the lake… Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." 29 "Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water…

Joshua led God’s people into the Promised Land, the inheritance promised to Abraham. Jesus leads God’s people into the eternal Promised Land – Heaven, as our spiritual inheritance. Joshua 1:2-3 Now then, you… get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land… 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Abraham. Matthew 25:34 "Then the King will say, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

Joshua’s army pulled down earthly strongholds. Jesus’ army, the Church, will pull down satanic strongholds. Joshua 6:1-2 Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites… 2 Then the LORD said to Joshua, "See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men... 2 Corinthians 10:4 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish [Satan’s] strongholds.

Joshua’s army was arrayed in earthly armor. Jesus’ army is arrayed in spiritual armor from God. Joshua 6:9, 20 The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark....20 When the trumpets sounded, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city. Ephesians 6:11-18 Put on the full armor of God [to] take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Joshua----------Christ
Joshua described himself as a servant of God. Jesus acted out the part of a servant of God. Joshua 24:15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." John 13:12-14 "Do you understand what I have done for you?" he asked them. 13 "You call me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and… that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet.
