2. The roads of Eastern KY

3. Problem
The roads of Eastern KY are infested with nasty coal trucks, however they are a lifestyle and a necessity in the area for the transportation of coal from the mines.
Our water pump system to water the roads down uses a lot of gasoline, so we want to use a wind powered pump

4. Steps to designing

5. Solution
Our way of thinking went back to the water pump idea, so instead of using a gasoline powered pump we are going to design a wind mill that runs a generator, which will in turn power the pump.

6. How it’s gonna work
How this is going to work is basically the same as wind powered energy, first the wind mill will be erected near a water source. Then a drive shaft will be connected to the shaft of the turbine blades. The drive shaft will turn and power a generator, the generator will then power the water pump.
