3 Vocabulary: -Integers: A whole number that can be either positive or negative. -Opposites: The same distance away from 0, but on opposite sides of 0. -Additive Inverse: The sum of an integer and its opposite.

8 EXAMPLE 3: Mrs. Gray has 25 hot dogs for her students. She sold 25 hot dogs. How many hotdogs does she have left?

9 EXAMPLE 4: Taylor has 6 pieces of gum. She passed out 6 pieces of gum to her friends. How many pieces of gum does she have left?
