3 What are the components of plot?
Plot is the sequence of related events that make up a story There are 5 basic components of plot Basic Situation (Exposition) Introduced to main characters and conflicts of the story Internal Conflict: Problem within the character External Conflict: Problem with another character or outside force

4 2. Complications, or rising action
The events of the story, related to the conflict Each event builds up to the climax 3. Climax High point of the story, the most suspenseful moment Decides the outcome of the conflict 4. Falling Action a. Events that occur after the climax and lead to the resolution 5. Resolution, or denouement Conflict(s) are resolved and story ends
