10. New Genitive Uses Genitive use you know so far?
Possession
New use: genitive of the whole/partitive
Indicates the WHOLE of something in the genitive after a word designating the PART
Pars urbis (part of the city)
Nihil temporis (nothing of time/no time)
Used with mīlia and neuter nominative/accusatives like satis, aliquid, multum, plūs, minus, satis
Can also be the neuter singular of 2nd declension adjective
Quid novī?- What is of new (what’s up?)
Nihil certī- nothing of certain (nothing certain)

11. New Ablative Uses Ablative uses known so far?
Prepositional phrases, means, manner, accompaniment
Ablative with cardinal numbers
To express the idea of the whole with cardinal numbers/quīdam/paucī use Ex or Dē + ablative
Quattor ex amīcīs meīs (four of my friends) (I have lots of friends)
VS! Quattor Discīpulī (four students) (I only have four students)

12. Ablative of time WHEN or WITHIN WHICH
Represented with the ablative WITHOUT a preposition
Translate “at”, “in”, or “within”
Eō tempore nōn poteramus id facere.
At that time we were not able to do it.
Paucīs hōrīs veniēmus ad mūsēum.
Within a few hours we will go to the museum.
