Tuesday 5 February A balanced diet
SLO: Explain what a balanced diet is. Define balanced diet Draw a basic food pyramid Explain why different foods should be eaten in different amounts Notes on key functions of nutrients: energy, growth and repair, and health balance. Reading labels – what do they tell you? Listing types of diets – What is a balanced diet? Homework: Find and cut out 2 food labels. Compare the energy content and nutrient content of each. Which contains most energy? Which contains a greater range of nutrients?
