Describe Mr. Summers based on his responsibilities and the way others react to him. What might a “perfunctory chant” suggest about past lotteries? How does Old Man Warner feel about the lottery? Describe Mrs.Hutchison’s behavior and reaction from the other villagers? What expectation did you have about the lottery at the beginning of the story? How did that expectation change?

“The Lottery” Summative
Turn in your notebook and homework Collect a manilla folder and a sheet of loose leaf paper. Your desk area should be clear of everything except your testing materials. Title your page as “The Lottery” Summative and fill out the rest of the header. DO NOT WRITE ON MY COPY OF THE TEST! You have the entire class period to complete the exam. Turn in your answer sheet and my blue copy of the test to the back table. If you have extra time, work silently on missing assignments. Good Luck!
