4 How did the Triangle-Slave Trade Work?

5 Background In the beginning, Portuguese traders traded guns and manufactured goods to Africans for their war prisoners. African groups would use the weapons to take more prisoners to trade with the Europeans. Eventually, the Europeans started taking the slaves themselves. By the time the African leaders started objecting to this process, it was too late.
