They had trouble going through the plains.
The Central pacific was racing with the Union pacific each mile they built they got paid.

3. The Gold Rush
Gorge Jackson was curious that he went to the Rocky Mountains he found gold flakes.
When people heard that there was gold in California they went out to look for some.
California had enough people that it became a state.

4. Cowboys
Cowboys decided to go to East cities to make more money because beef was scarce there.
Cowboys had to work at least 16 hours or more.
Cowboys had a hard time herding the cattle.
