Faith alone for initial salvation which then results in good works

INTRODUCTION Our purpose after initial salvation is to Grow in grace
II Pet 3:18 “…grow in grace, and the experiential knowledge of Jesus Christ..” Live pleasing to God Rom 12:2 “… be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Use Eternal Life (God’s quality of Life) Eph 5:18 “…be filled (by means of) the Spirit…” Eph 2:10 “…created in Christ Jesus for good works…”

INTRODUCTION The problem in fulfilling God’s purpose is the interference of three ‘old friends’: * My sin nature * Satan * The world system

CONCLUSION Our former characteristics, before we were believers, is NOT who we are now (cf I Cor 6:9-10) Our purpose: “…the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations…” II Peter 2:9
