ADJECTIVES EXAMPLES On cold nights, I like to wear my fuzzy slippers.
Cold modifies the noun, nights. Fuzzy modifies the noun, slippers. Diego is a ridiculous dog. Ridiculous modifies the noun, dog. The oldest child usually gets more attention. Oldest modifies the noun, child. We cringed at her awful singing. Awful modifies the gerund (noun), singing. The class’ hysterical laughter could be heard all the way down the hall. Hysterical modifies the noun, laughter. Emily is going to be a gigantic hoarder when she grows up. Gigantic modifies the noun, hoarder.
