Current Software Setup
Tally for Account Excel sheets for Inventory, production reports, quality reports Stated customized software development in VB6 and Access but failed to develop and implement successfully as vendor stopped business.

Present Limitations MIS reports are made in excel sheets which is a manual and time-consuming work and also not accurate Company wanted to keep recipe secrete and hence not interested in standard ERP system as data security will be at stake. Accounting was not an issue as total number of transactions were low.

Present Limitations Lot of duplicity of data generation to avoid knowledge of one type of data to other department or application. Product Name and Identity was changed at every stage and hence no standard solution was fitting in the requirements.

Objectives for ERP Solution
Being an ISO 9001:2000 certified company, lot of paper work done to meet the requirements. Company wanted to eliminate paper work or at least reduce it to minimum.

Implantation Approach
In January 2004 it was decided to implement QASoft ERP but due to other priorities implementation started in January 2005. Initially QASoft was implemented for Sales, Production Planning and quality control.

In second stage machine maintenance, human resource training and corrective preventive actions system was implemented. In third stage purchase was implemented. Accounting was given last because present system was satisfactory.

Benefits Derived ERP implemented with Desired Secrecy level.
Up to Date MIS reports available at any time with higher degree of accuracy without extra efforts.

Benefits Derived No duplicity in data entry at any stage. Data entry forms are made ready from the software which even eliminates selection and data linking. Company is now able to make 6 sigma analysis based from QASoft.

Benefits Derived Software provides status of balance stocks with test result and 6 sigma analysis of results to guide recipe preparation. Company avoided to implement auto recipe generation by the system for secrecy reasons.

Benefits Derived At present 6 sigma is implemented for selected business processes. Microsoft SQL 2005 provides latest security features to meet international requirements.

Benefits Derived Audits of ISO 9001:2000 were carried out solely from the software data. Analysis and reports needed by the management and the auditors were available instantly. No overnight preparation of reports.

Future Readiness Company plans to shift from client server application to web server application with its own web server. Company plans to switch over to Windows Vista as soon as QASoft vista version is available (expected by March 2008).

ISO 9000 and 6 sigma compliance
Today ISO audit (record verification and tracking) is done entirely on QASoft software during internal and external audits. At Present 6 sigma analysis is done for all product quality issues. Soon this will be extended to all business processes
