From June 2001 to May 2002
Goal was EU sample (2940) + extension (3750) = 6690 persons
Result was 7460 persons

Objectives
TWO MAIN OBJECTIVES
Surveying the period October 2002 to May 2003 in order to correct the DATELINE database for the effects of September 11th
Testing methodology in which the collection of long-distance data (DATELINE-survey) and daily mobility data (National Travel Survey) is combined

Methodology
Additionally persons will be interviewed for their day-to-day mobility
The questionnaire from the pilot study for the National Travel Survey (OVG) will be used
Survey period is September 2002 to February 2003
Following the respondents will be interviewed for their long-distance travelling in the following month (October 2002 to March 2003)

Methodology
Total long-distance survey will end up with returns.
In the National Travel Survey some key questions concerning long-distance mobility have been placed. This gives the possibility to correct for non-respondents in de DATELINE survey

Expected Results
Alignment of the DATELINE surveys for building the reference dataset
Determination of the September 11th effect and derivation of correction factors for DATELINE survey 2000 / 2001
Examination of a satellite structure of the OVG and reviewing the effect by comparing the two DATELINE samples
Building an integrated database, combining the total mobility (daily and long-distance) for analysis
