When to Use Apostrophes
One way to use an apostrophe is when showing possession or ownership. Ex: John’s new wagon is red. Let’s go to the Bear’s game on Saturday.

When to Use Apostrophes continued…
Use an apostrophe to show ownership when a name ends in s and at the end of plural nouns which end in s Ex: Amos’ car is brand new. Write Amos’ instead of Amos’s The boys’ car broke down.

Contractions Another way apostrophes are used is when making two words into one when showing omissions of letters and words. can not = can’t He can’t go the game today. Why aren’t you at the game?

to show possession and ownership and to show omissions of letters or words.
