Minimum Wage Of the 75 million wage earners in the US – 1.6 million earn the federal minimum wage, 2 million earn under $7.25 and that is 4.7% of all wage earners 65% of this 3.6 million population is between the ages of 16 and 19 The dominant industries are food service, maintenance and entertainment Equal Pay Women in general earn around 82% of what men earn. Three factors account for around 70% of that disparity. 1) more women in low paid jobs, less seniority in a given company or profession and more planned absences from the workforce Roughly 20% of women are not paid the same as men doing the same job

Grow the Pie – don’t focus on who gets what slice What Does Business Need to Grow The right people for the jobs available The right connection between education and the needs of the community and business world Regulations that advance the logic of business and which do not serve as a barrier to growth and innovation Access to money and credit Access to new markets and new opportunities – in the US and around the world A modicum of predictability from government – at all levels
