Movement – how people, ideas, and goods move from place to place
This is responsible for the various changes that result over time. Migration – movement from one location to another Immigration – moving in to another country Emigration – moving out of a country Push factor – reasons people leave Pull factor – reasons people move in

Region – areas that have common characteristics
Physical regions – refer to natural divisions on Earth Cultural regions – based on human features, such as language or religion

Human-Environment Interaction – how the world appears as a result of human interaction
Dependence – relying on some aspect of the environment in order to live in a particular way

Location – where places are
Absolute Location – a place’s exact position on earth Relative Location – where it is in relation to other places, or what it is near

Place – the physical and human features of a location
Physical Characteristics – the way a place looks, mountains, rivers, vegetation, etc. Human Characteristics – What people do changes or defines a place, special buildings, clothes, language, etc.
