2 To enhance student learning, enrich students curriculum, promote school improvement To provide an opportunity for interested community members to become directly involved with the educational process To help school personnel with non-instructional tasks, projects To strengthen school-community relations The bottom line – these are EDUCATIONAL partnerships – they should always support student achievement. 2

4 Responsibilities of the business partner coordinator To communicate with staff regarding 1) the utilization of business partners and 2) their need for partners To develop a needs assessment for partnerships To brainstorm and recruit partnerships To plan partnership activities and complete the partnership agreement form To maintain the partnership To provide orientation and training, when necessary To provide recognition To evaluate partnerships 4

5 What is the Partnership Agreement? 3-part form Completed by the school and business AFTER the activities have been discussed What is its purpose? To officially record the agreement To remind involved parties of the activitys timeline To provide an opportunity for the principal (or designee) to approve the partnership To inform the district office of the partnership 5 school or department business or organization

Hosseini Family Foundation Has partnered with 6 schools providing programs for at-risk students Teen Zone (middle school ); Kid Zone (elementary school) Tutoring Transportation to fun learning activities Free meals and snacks Reward system 10
