The first four commandments are about loving God.
Honor your father and your mother You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet Love God Love others You shall have no other gods before me You shall not make for yourself an image You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

Types of laws Civil -servants -kidnapping -animals injuring people -protecting property Ceremonial -festivals -tabernacle -priesthood Moral -loving God -worshipping idols -stealing -lying -adultery

It is a Covenant An agreement between two parties describing their relationship, often with blessings or curses attached. The law did not create Israel’s relationship with God, but it is the guide for its maintenance.

Ideal Israel It is not God’s ideal law
