There are 3 types of graphs
1. Line Graph 2. Bar Graph 3. Circle or Pie Graph

Definitions Independent Variable – What is being changed (amount of water) Dependent Variable – What you observe (change in height) Controlled Variable – What you keep the same (cruise control)

All graphs must include:
Title Name Label each axis with units X-axis – Where the independent variable goes Generally time (months, days, years, hours , etc) Y-axis – Where the dependent variable goes Mass, temperature, weight, pounds, etc. Key – If you have multiple lines or bars

1. Line Graph Shows changes and trends Ex. Change over time

2. Bar Graph Information collected by counting
Ex. Compare amounts or frequency of occurrence of different characteristics of data

3. Circle or Pie Graph Fixed quantity is broken down
