Objective: : Students will be able to prove our knowledge and understanding of the adversities and overcoming adversities. Agenda A.) Do Now: Complete the Exam on the novel. B.) Work Period: Make up any owed HW. Answer the following questions: Why was education significantly valued by slaves in the 1800’s? Why isn’t education valued by so many teenagers today in 2019? What event in Douglass’ novel stood out to you significantly and why? What slavery exists today in 2019? (You may do an internet search to discover the answer) Why do you believe it’s valuable to view a film on slavery? Why do you believe it’s important to read a slave narrative in 2019? D.) Q & A/Reflections: Student volunteers will share their answers to the work period questions.
