J. Willis altimetry testing for pressure bias:
1. Construct Tmean for 1/2005 – 12/2007, using only floats deployed 1/2004 or later and excluding “bad” and “Bad but correctable” floats, plus floats from the 3 WHOI lists (WHOI/FSI correctable, WHOI/FSI not correctable, WHOI/SBE) and 4 CSIRO lists (insuff. p0, -p0, no tech file, unknown type). 2. Remove the same time mean from temperature and altimetric height data. Essentially this assumes that pressure from PROVOR, SIO SOLO, and APEX positive p0 (corrected), are unbiased. 3. Calculate regression coefficients for SSH vs T’. 4. Use SSH to estimate <T’> for each collection. 5. Convert <Terror> = T’-<T’> to <perror> using climatological dT/dp.
