3. The First Day
The First Day of Middle School is pretty exciting and filled with new faces.
School starts precisely at 8:05am, so make sure you get up at an appropriate time.
You either get to school on the bus or as a car rider. (I recommend taking the bus, the car rider line is REALLY long).
Once you get to school the teachers will take care of it from there.
Don’t worry, the first day is relaxing and easy.

4. Teams
Now hopefully you know what team you are on…if not go to a teacher right away but that is probably already taken care of.
You will be with your team all year, in academics, gym & health, arts classes and lunch.
All teams are great with magnificent teachers.

5. Lockers You will be assigned a locker with a combination
You will have time to practice opening it but not that much time
If you are having a lot of trouble, I recommend getting a lock you can practice on at home
Otherwise in a few weeks it will be a normal routine!

6. Academics You will have your regular classes everyday
Make sure you have all of your materials that you were told to have
And enough pencils because those go quick!

7. Arts Your arts classes are on A days
You will have Music & Careers, Computers, Art, Tech, Family Consumer Science.
The teachers are great and you will a have a lot of fun!

8. Gym & Health For gym you are required to bring a change of clothes
You are also given a locker with a lock
Make sure to keep extra clothes in your locker just in case
For health you need to bring your own binder
Also bring some deodorant for gym class

9. Lunch The lunches at NMS are amazing!
There are three lines you can go to
The first one is the main lunch that day, the second is the sandwich line and the third is the snack line.
You also can sit wherever you want and with your friends
We are known for our cookies!

10. Sports Here at NMS we have numerous sports you can try
You don’t have to have played the sport, just tryout!
For the girls there is Cheerleading, Volleyball, Field Hockey, Soccer, Softball, Track and Basketball.
For the boys there is Basketball, Football, Soccer, Track, Wrestling and Baseball.

11. Clubs We have many different clubs
Yearbook Club, Buddy Club, CRAFT PLAYERS, reading Olympics, L-TAG, SADD and Student Council
These are usually all during RA period, so make sure you are committed.

12. Music During RA period are the music activities
There is Jazz Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Drum Line, Jam Band, String Ensemble, Full Orchestra, Newtown Choraliers, Young Men's Ensemble and Middle Masters
Join one, their fun!
