Statistics Every year The estimated amount of high school students that are introduced into ecstasy is 10%, in 2010. About a little less than 1000 people try ecstasy for there first in counter.

What it looks like Ecstasy comes in many colors with many different shapes on them. Overall all Ecstasy mainly has some type of cartoon or known design on it, and is normally in a circular shape, but can com in a capsule. It has cartoons because the pills are like a “happy pill” when you take it, and cartoons are fun and happy.

Short Term Effects It takes about 45 minutes for Ecstasy to take affect and for you to feel the “high”. They will normally make you feel hyper in the beginning but some lose track of time or some are anxious or feel dizzy. “MDMA can also cause muscle tension, nausea, blurred vision, and increased heart rate and blood pressure. Forceful clenching of the teeth can occur, and individuals at clubs have been known to chew on pacifiers to relieve some of the tension.”(said by drugabuse.gov)

Long Term Effects “A study of animals showed that exposure to high doses of MDMA for 4 days produced brain damage that could still be seen 6 to 7 years later.” (said by drugabuse.gov) Memory loss Heart, Kidney, and Liver Failure

How It Enters The Body It is normally taken through the mouth in pill form It can also be snorted through the nose It is absorbed in the bloodstream then it goes to the brain.

Legal Consequences The legal consequences of ecstasy all depend on your age, how much you have with you, if you selling it or you just bought it to get high, and if you have a previous record. “A person who is convicted of manufacturing or distributing 50 grams or more of EX may be sentenced to a prison sentence of 10 years to life and/or be required to pay a fine of up to $4 million if the defendant is an individual or $10 million if the defendant is other than an individual.”(said by thegooddrugsguide.com) “The penalty for first offense possession of a small (personal) amount of ecstasy is a maximum of one year in prison and a fine. Someone with one prior conviction is subject to a term of 15 days to two years in prison, and two or more prior convictions to a term of 90 days to three years, both with increasing fines.” (said ecstasy.com.ua)
