LPAC On Line system Refer to eSTAR directions on how to set up the Monitor LPAC Meetings (eStar Screen # 7) M1s, M2s, Parent Denial and Bilingual/ESL Students need to be monitored if they fail one or more core content areas. Refer to step-by step directions provided by the bilingual/ESL department on how to print failure reports from TEAMs.

Monitoring of M1s, M2s, Parent Denials and BILINGUAL/ESL STUDENTS FAILING ONE OR MORE CORE CONTENT AREAS The LPAC administrator will be responsible for filling out student information on the eStar monitoring form for all Parent Denials, M1s, M2s and Bilingual/ESL students who are failing one or more core content areas. If the students are failing one or more content classes, his/her teacher will provide input to the LPAC administrator: reasons, linguistic accommodations, and the instructional interventions used in the class to support that particular student. Teachers will complete needed screen on eStar to provide feedback about the students’ interventions used in the classroom.

3. The LPAC will make recommendations for failing Parent Denials, M1s, M2s and served students in the bilingual or ESL program. If necessary, the LPAC will also recommend re-entry into Bilingual (Elementary) or ESL (Elementary or Secondary) if there is a possible lack of student progress due to language proficiency, not student behavior or other reasons beyond language.

Student Report Card, Benchmarks, CBAS…
Monitoring of FAILING M1s, M2s Parent Denials and SErVED STUDENTS IN BILINGUAL/ESL -Documentation THAT MAY BE REVIEW for the LPAC Meeting- Student Report Card, Benchmarks, CBAS… STAAR/TAKS and TELPAS history reports from TEAMS and/or AWARE. Any disciplinary actions taken against the student under Subchapter A, Chapter 37 (Administrator’s Discipline reports) Attendance report from TEAMS. Grades 9-12: The number of credits the student has earned toward high school graduation, if applicable (Academic Achievement Record-AAR)

In the event that a student is recommended or reclassified back into Bilingual or ESL, a Parent Approval form will be sent home. The signed parent form will be uploaded into the eStar system. The Bilingual/ESL Department PEIMS Data Clerk, assigned bilingual/ESL specialist and Bilingual/ESL Director will be notified of the re-entry decision.
