INSTRUCTIONS Select a few appropriate ‘Game breaks’ to include other online safety messages during the game. Practise actions for each of them with the class. Teacher/class mark out a ‘course’ around the hall/playground/field including items (e.g. beanbags) that can be picked up Agree as a class what the items represent e.g. school reward system, golden time minutes, housepoints etc. Pupils move around the course (fast walk/jog) avoiding obstacles and picking up items as they go Items must be returned to the teacher before they can be used as pupils pass during the race and replaced on the course, so that all pupils have a chance to pick them up – not just the quickest Remind pupils of the need to protect technology devices by not clicking on pop-ups, downloading attachments etc. Returning the items to the teacher is like checking with an adult when we see a pop-up or attachment. Include ‘Game breaks’. When a game break is called everyone stops to do an appropriate action
