2 Language Arts – Warm Up 01/23/18
Novel Studies Write and define all of the literary terms on page 94 of your SpringBoard textbook in your I.A.N. If you have any remaining incomplete work in your reading portfolio, finish those items next.

3 Language Arts – Work Session 01/23/18
Essential Questions: How can talking and working with others help one analyze a novel? How do internal and external forces help people grow? Standard: ELASE6RI1 – Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Learning Targets: Identify claims. Elect your position on these claims. Support your claim with logical reasoning and relevant evidence.

4 Language Arts – Work Session 01/22/18
Novel Studies First, write “Double Entry Journal #1” on your Writing Strategies T.O.C. for page 109. Then, glue the double-entry half sheet to page 109. Put today’s date and the title, “Double Entry Journal #1” at the top. Then, use the book to write the title and author. Write the number of your assigned book on the front cover of your folder and draw a circle around it.

5 Language Arts – Closing Session 01/23/18
Novel Studies – Literature Circles First, decide who will have each role. Your choices are: reporter, discussion leader, diction detective, or bridge builder. Each person will complete their role. Then, the group will come together to discuss and share answers so that all individuals will have a completed sheet. ARTFUL ARTIST – EACH person must complete this side on their own. Remember, your artwork is not as important as your EFFORT!  Keep all materials in your reading portfolio.
