Circles Squares or Rectangles Triangles
Designing a Column Circles Squares or Rectangles Triangles

Outside Shape You must have a 2" Diameter Cylinder for your outside shape, then you can have any combination of shape, including all circles or all squares or all triangles

Shapes Interaction When putting a square in side of a triangle or a triangle in side of a square, put a circle in between them so they will fit easier and better.

Circles Pi or π : Is 3.14 Circumference: is the distance around the out- side of a circle.

Circles Diameter: Is the distance across the circle.
To find the Circumference of circles Diameter: Is the distance across the circle.

Circles The formula to find the circumference of a circle is : Diameter X π = Circumference 2"X 3.14 = 6.28"≈ 6 1/4“(look on the pink sheet)

Squares or Rectangles Draw a circle, then put the tic mark from the template on the circle. Draw lines that connect each of the tic marks and that touch the circle.

Squares or Rectangles Perimeter : is the distance around the out- side of a square or rectangle. Measure from : 2”

Squares or Rectangles Then from: 2” X 2” 2” X 2” X 2”

Squares or Rectangles Then from: 2” X 2” X 2” X 2”

Triangle Draw a circle : Draw a circle, then put the tic mark from the template on the circle and make cross hairs in the middle of the circle.

Triangle Draw a mark down 120 degrees form the top of the circle (one side). Then draws a line back to the center of the circle, where the line crosses the circle is the a corners of the a triangle.

Triangle Draw a mark down 120 from the top (on the other side). Then draws a line back to the center of the circle, where the line crosses the circle, is the other corners of the triangle

Triangle Connect the top mark with the other two marks and it makes a triangle

Triangle Perimeter: is the distance around the out-side of a Triangle.
Measure from : 2” X

Triangle Measure from : Measure from: 2” X 2” X 2”

Top View: A. 2" X 3.14 = 6.26 ≈ 6 1/4“. B. 1 ½" X 1 ½" X 1 ½" X 1 ½". C. 1 ½" X 3.14 = 4.71” ≈ 4 11/16". D. 1 1/4" X 1 1/4" X 1 1/4".

Lay-out: You may lay-out your shapes with a paper turned ether way (8½” X 11”).

Lay-out All of your shape need to be 3" tall. So divide
our paper in to 3" tall pieces.

Lay-out Start laying out your different shapes, starting
with the largest ones first. Don’t forget to put 1/8" to 1/4" tabs at the end of each shape.
