Why I volunteered at ECHO
I really liked the organization and what they do.
3
What did I do at ECHO
4
What I got out of doing it.
They refreshed my memory of the vertical farm, tire garden, rooftop garden and the platform garden. They also reminded me that you don’t need soil to grow things, but you can use carpeting, newspapers, etc. I learned the moringa tree has more potassium than bananas and more calcium than milk. I also noticed many families with their kids and it made me remember that Dewey said if we teach our kids young they will learn, so hopefully what they learned will stay with them.
