1 What we must know 2 Timothy 1:7-12

2 We must know these things when…
We face life’s challenges When we struggle in our marriage When our faith is shaken When we are given life-shattering news

3 You must know who you are!
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.  2 Timothy 1:7 “If we perceive ourselves to be worthless or inadequate, this will be manifested in our behavior. But if we choose to acknowledge the truth of Scripture, we will begin to see God and ourselves in a new light.” Kenneth Boa

4 You must know “why” you are!
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time… Timothy 1:9 And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. 2 Timothy 1:11

5 You must know why you are!
“The purpose of your life is far greater than your personal fulfillment, your peace of mind or even your happiness. It's far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose.” Rick Warren

6 Why are we here ? You were planned for God’s pleasure
You were formed for God’s family You were created to become like Christ You were shaped to serve God You were made for a mission

7 You must know Him! …I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day Timothy 1:12

8 Steps to knowing God God opens our eyes We believe in what we see
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ Corinthians 4:6 We believe in what we see Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God John 1:12

9 Steps to knowing Him We continue to believe Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them. John 14:21

10 In short… I know who I am I know why I am I know the great I Am
