1 Lab Report Basics Introduction: Question and Hypothesis. Give some back ground information on the experiment. Write your hypothesis in sentence form. This section should be at least a paragraph. 2. Procedure: List Materials and Method (step by step) List Independent Variable, Dependent Variable and Control.

2 Scientific Variables Independent Variable: The variable or condition being changed in the experiment. Dependent Variable: the variable or condition being measured in the experiment. Control(s): the variable(s) or condition(s) being kept the same throughout the experiment.

3 3. Data: Carry out the experiment and collect data
3. Data: Carry out the experiment and collect data. (Charts and Tables are nice when getting measurements.) Explain your data, don’t just put the data. If doing observations then this section should be in paragraph form. 4. Conclusion: Draw your conclusions from data, talk about hypothesis and positives and negatives of experiment. What would you do different next time. Did anything go wrong? This section should be at least a paragraph.
