Slope = Rise (y values) Run (x values) Slope = y2 – y1 x2 – x1 = 150 m – 0 m 30 s – 0 s = 5 m/s

Calculating Slope Find the slope of this line: Slope = y2 – y1 x2 – x1

a) Coming back? b) Moving at a constant speed? c) Not moving?

Position vs. Time You can use position vs. time graphs to compare the motion of different objects. A steeper line on a position vs. time graph means a faster speed.
