3 The New Kingdom Thutmose III was very young when he became pharaoh.
His stepmother, Hatshepsut, proclaimed herself pharaoh.

4 Learning Activity Read the question.
Locate it in the text (pages 78-79). Put the page #, paragraph #, and sentence in which you found the answer. With your group you are going to learn about rule during the NEW KINGDOM. At the same time, we are going to practice locating information in a text. I have identified the important facts to find.

Roman Empire.

7 Finally After reading about Hatshepsut’s rule, do you feel she deserved to rule? Why or why not?

9 Even if a ruler is a GOOD ruler, if they became the ruler in an unfair way, they should not rule.

10 Child pharaohs should not have a regent; they should be able to rule themselves with the help of advisors.
