Honor is achieved on the battlefield Glory comes to those based on number killed and amount of treasure acquired Desires fame after death Gold is the greatest treasure People tended to hoard it and let the treasure corrupt their values Only the best humans can withstand the effects Retribution/ Justice dominated Norse society Wergild is offered for accidental death or murder Wergild can be refused, and if it is, the character accepts his or her own death as punishment Heroes are also measured by their kindness Strength and courage are needed to survive, but those who are generous and loyal will not have to stand alone against the world.
