Many students struggled with the “command the text” part of the prompt. Referring to your thesis, did you specify how Shakespeare does this? Were you as specific as you should be?
Did you answer the entire prompt? Did you do it well? Did your thesis fully capture your answer?
Take a look at your score and compare it to the generic AP essay rubric found toward the back of your AP Survival Guide. What words from this rubric align with your score? (Let’s say you earned a ‘5’– what specifically in the explanation of essays that typically earn 5’s aligns with your own essay?)
Identify 2-3 areas where you improved on this essay compared to previous timed essays.
Identify 2-3 areas where you need to develop your skillset in order to strengthen future timed essays. How will you achieve this growth?
