Requirements to Tryout
No failing grades for any 6 week grading period. No failing grades for any class on any report card. Most recent report card (from HAC) must be submitted with application. No more than 3 demerits.

How long is the cheer season?
Cheer is a year round sport. We cheer for all home football games. Tuesday nights, late August- first week of November We cheer for all home basketball games, girls and boys. Thursday nights, mid November- first week of February Cheer takes precedent over any outside extracurricular. We will work with other school activities/sports, but not all-star team schedules.

New competitive team for ‘19-’20 school year
Best athletes from the 7th and 8th grade teams.

Finances Current approximate cost: $950 (possibly lower)
Account must be paid in full before school lets out for summer (end of May). First payment is due March 20th , second payment is due April 17th. The cost includes everything! Full uniform, all practice attire, jacket, shoes, bows, bag and summer camp. Fundraising is available and will be discussed at the parents meeting March 7th.

MMS Cheerleader Expectations
You are expected to be the leading example of what a MMS student should be, at all times! In and out of school! You will be held to a higher standard than other students and athletes. Cheer-LEADER.

Tryout Info Tryout clinic: February 25th- February 27th 4:00pm-5:00pm
Learn the material February 28th: Mock Tryouts and Review Run through tryout procedures Tryouts: March 1st 4:30pm-until finished

What will the tryout consist of?
Cheer Chant Dance 30-45 seconds. Jumps 3 total. 1 must be a toe touch. Cannot whip them together. Running Tumbling Scoring begins with a back handspring. Standing Tumbling

Who will be judging the tryouts?
3 hired, unbiased judges from out of town with no affiliation or connection to Midway ISD.
