The Darkest Day The meaning of the Darkness: It was the Atmosphere for Jesus’ Suffering Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46) “He bore the sin of many” (Isaiah 53:10-12) He was made “to be sin on our behalf” (2 Cor. 5:21) “He was wounded for our transgressions” (Isa. 53.5) He “takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29) He “gave Himself a ransom for all” (1 Timothy 2:6) He “became a curse for us” (Galatians 3:13) He “bore our sins in His own body on the tree” (1 Peter 2:24)
