How can the shadow tell about the directions?

16 How to Tell Directions The shadow can also tell us about the time!
One way that people long ago used to tell time was by using a sundial. On a sundial, the time is marked by the position of the shadow that changes as the sun moves during the day from east to west.

17 How to Tell Directions At night, when the sky is clear, a shining star appears call the North Star. A group of seven stars called the Big Dipper, which shaped like a spoon, points to the North Star.

18 How to Tell Directions Sailors on seas and oceans, and travelers in deserts use the sun, the North Star and the compass to find their destination.

19 How to Tell Directions What if the weather is cloudy?
A compass is used to tell directions. The compass has a magnetic needle that points in the direction of the North Pole at all times

20 How to Tell Directions If you hang a magnet bar from the middle with a rope, the magnet will go around until it points to the north. Muslims all over the world need to know the direction of Makkah as they face it when they pray
