Fig 1 Overall survival rates in elderly and younger patients who underwent esophageal resection. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival rates in the elderly group were 56.2%, 40.7%, and 32.9%, respectively, whereas those in the younger group were 71.5%, 43.2%, and 35.3%, respectively (p = 0.27).
