1 Welcome to Year 2 Miss Place

2 Understanding the curriculum
It seems quite a large jump from Year 1 to Year 2, but everything can be completed in small steps. We start with the basics, and don’t ever stop reinforcing these.

Lessons are all differentiated accordingly to fit your child’s needs. We use LOTS of resources! The majority of the time, the children will sit in mixed ability pairs. On some occasions, they will sit in ability groups. Maths English Guided Reading Topic Spellings

5 Weekly timetable We cover ALL subjects in our weekly timetable.
PE is on Thursdays and Fridays.

6 Homework Homework - ALL homework is given in on Monday, and needs to be returned by the following Monday. This gives you the weekend to help your child if necessary. Reading books Recorders

7 Values We do our utmost in the classroom to make the children feel comfortable.

8 Want to talk? If you would like to have a private meeting with me to discuss your child, please don’t hesitate to ask. This can be done through asking me at the end of the day, or by contacting the school office.

9 SATS There will be a meeting about KS1 SATS on 16th January at 5pm. I hope to see you all there!

10 CORNERSTONES BOUNCE! This is our first very new exciting topic in our new curriculum – Cornerstones. Each topic has a focus on one specific curriculum area. Home learning! You can already see some amazing pieces of home learning on display!
