Abstract, although written last, comes first in the section and first in the peer edition process Abstract is a succinct summary.

6 Epistemology Critiques for Genres Selection to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
Epistemology: 3 genres selection and research examples of each genre Some students only listed the website rather than an actual example. Study and supply an actual example

7 Epistemology Critiques for Philosophers to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
While researching new philosophers within each branch is commendable, it may be easier to use the philosophers cited in the video because of the long-standing credibility of those philosophers. It seemingly would be beneficial to use two of the philosophers within the videos and perhaps one of your own choice.

8 Epistemology Critiques for Peer Editing Video to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
The video was to follow my handout. The peer editing partners were to have read the section before the video NOT DURING THE VIDEO. The video is the peer editor pointing out the errors and unclear content of the philosophical ideas through the genre. The peer editing is to be SPECIFIC not general. For example, when the editor is asked to give the thesis, he/she DOES NOT ASK THE WRITER but finds this WITHIN the text. It is the peer editors responsibility to be critical and ask questions or make comments that will help the writer. The peer editor is a Ms. Cotner BEFORE Ms. Cotner ever receives the TE.

9 Epistemology Critiques for Thesis/Formal Outline to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
Thesis must have subject (second branch of ethics), opinion (ethics, the theory of right actions), and three particulars of the opinion. (3 philosophers of ethics). Outline must be formal following the lessons presented last semester as a formal outline. No bullets but numbers and letters outlining the concepts that will be discussed following the formula. The formula is always 1)topic sentence that repeats each particular of the three-point opinions. 2) research that addresses the points as it relates to the branch point. 3) explaining in your own words what this research means. 4) giving a real example of what the research and your explanation means to clarify 5) commentary on how that relates to your topic sentence 6) commentary on how that relates to your thesis This repeated throughout the entire outline Conclusion which is your personal philosophy of that branch in light of your research. (comparing contrasting)

10 Epistemology Critiques for Letter to the Editor to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
Purpose of the letter to the editor is to act as the introduction in the format of a letter rather than an essay It must include background of the branch It must include the extended definition and explanation of the branch The philosophers chosen to demonstrate the branch The genres to be used to illustrate the philosophical ideas of the branch An invitation to an innovative approach to research rather than an essay format.

11 Epistemology Critiques for Genres to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
Cover letter noting the genre used. The genres must be true to format. Embedded within the genre, the formula as described in the formal outline. In-text citations when research is used. In-text citations MLA formatted correctly. The first entry word of the WC is the only word listed in the in-text citation.

12 Epistemology Critiques for Personal Philosophy to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
Personal philosophy is comparing and contrasting philosophers used in the section. No new research to be introduced. Repitiion of previously research is allowed. Use examples to clarify Written explanatory text Should be at least one page and probably 2+.

13 Epistemology Critiques for TE to Clarify for Next Section Ethics
Formatted correctly If necessary save as a pdf to export. Make corrections. Make it something someone wants to read.

14 Going Forward—Revision of Assignments to be Turned into BB
Next section is ethics. Learn from the errors or confusion of the last section REVISION OF WHAT TO TURN INTO BB. This does not mean you don’t do it; it just means I don’t need to see it prior to the TE. DO NOT TURN IN PRIOR TO TE— Ethics: 3 genres selection and research examples of each genre DO NOT TURN IN PRIOR TO TE— Philosopher’s choices TO BE TURNED IN WITH TE—Research log. Thesis and Formal Outline DO NOT TURN IN PRIOR TO TE— Letter to the Editor 1st genre 2nd genre 3rd genre DO NOT TURN IN PRIOR TO TE— Personal philosophy DO NOT TURN IN PRIOR TO TE— Abstract Peer Editing Video TE Epistemology Section Entirety
