Get Ready to Read Camouflaged: In Arctic Lights, we learn that snowshoe hares have camouflaged bodies. What does a soldier wear to be camouflaged? How might a lizard be camouflaged in the desert? Ptarmigan – any of several kinds of birds with feathered feet that live in mountainous and cold regions. The ptarmigan was white and blended into the snow. What animals have protective coloration?
