Inspiration + Altered Your assignment is to create a form that is altered in some way off of the traditional forms created thus far in ceramics (wheel or handbuilt) and to try out new techniques in your work.
2
Inspiration + Altered PROCESS – Look up a new technique (magazines, online, books or videos) that will inspire you to create a unique form for this project Please make note (photocopies, websites etc) of your inspiration or research in your sketchbook – you will be required to submit an “inspiration collage” with your assignment (details to follow)

STEPS: 1 – Research – go through the magazines, books and online resources to gain inspiration. YOU MUST TRY SOMETHING NEW!!! 2 – Draw at least 2 ideas in sketchbook. Think about how you will create something unique and different for this project… and how you will apply a new skill, technique, tool or method to this project. This is a REQUIREMENT for this project! 3 – Get idea(s) approved 4 – No requirements as to size of final work or method of construction (thrown, hand-built or combination) 5 – Simple cylinders, bowls or plates will NOT GET A GRADE ABOVE A D! Please make it a priority to change or alter the shape in some way and/or add some level of surface decoration and complexity. 6 – DUE DATE – 3 weeks – (8 studio days) – May 9!
