Objective: Use expanded notation to represent numbers Expanded Form or Expanded Notation simply means the number is being stretched out to show the value of each digit. 3,246 = 3, Expanded form is a way of writing numbers so that all that is hidden about them comes out into the open. Expanded form shows what each digit is worth. 7,654 = 7 ,000 Steps 1. Write the digit on the left 2. Count how many digits follow it, write a zero for each and a comma if needed 3.
