What Are Sentence Fragments?
Groups of words that look like sentences, but aren’t. To be considered a sentence, it needs to have: One Independent Clause - A Subject + A Verb, and have a complete idea. For example: My house is green.

What Are Sentence Fragments?
When I was standing there. There is no complete thought. Sentence Fragments never have independent clauses, they are depended clauses or phrases.

When we got in the living room, we turned on the TV. The sentence would be better constructed in two ways: We turned on the TV when we got in the living room.

When we got in the living room, we turned on the TV. Examples of Subordinators are: Subordinator After; Until; Although; When; Before; Where; If; While; Since; Why.

When we got in the living room, we turned on the TV. Can be called independent clauses or Subordinating clauses.

When we got in the living room, we turned on the TV. When the subordinate clause is in the beginning of the sentence, then a comma is used.

What Are Sentence Fragments?
We turned on the TV when we got in the living room,. When the subordinate clause is in the second part of the sentence, then there no need to use a comma.
