3. Introduction
Alison Assigner, Deputy Library Manager at the Steppings Library delegates work to three assistant librarians.
The assistant librarians also deputise in her absence and attend meetings on her behalf.
In addition Alison monitors their work.

4. Delegation Process Alison often sends long confusing
s to each of the assistant
librarians with tasks.
Any new jobs that come in are assigned to whoever is around.
Alison is often offsite and unable to answer the assistant librarians’ questions.

5. Monitoring Process
Every six months Alison gives each of the assistant librarians feedback on their performance.
Each assistant librarian has a yearly meeting with Alison to discuss their performance, future objectives and any concerns.
