Spin Bike Set-up
2
The Saddle First, stand next to your bike and adjust the seat (“the saddle”) to approximately the same height as your hipbone. While seated with your feet on the pedals, make sure both legs have a slight bend in the knee, even at maximum extension.
3
The Saddle continued… Next, you must also adjust the distance between the seat and the handlebars. Your arms should be slightly bent at the elbow when you are seated and your hands are on the handlebars. Do not sit so far away that your elbows are locked.
4
HANDLEBARS Handlebars can be adjusted to personal comfort level. For example, I have lower back problems, and prefer my handlebars to be higher than my seat level, so that I’m not crouched over. During class, your hands should rest lightly on the handlebars for support. If you find yourself putting too much pressure on them, readjust.
5
Pedals Place feet into straps attached to the pedals. You can tighten or loosen the straps for your comfort. The soles of your feet should be parallel to the ground.
6
Conclusion These are just general guidelines for setting up your bike. Always adjust the bike to your comfort. If you need further help, be sure to ask your instructor!
