2. Entry Task Find your name tag and sit where you sat yesterday.
Grab a copy of SpringBoard off of the front counter.
Spend a few minutes perusing the book.
Identify at least TWO selections in the text that you are interested in. (They can be articles, stories, poems, activities…)
Be prepared to share with a neighbor.
Pass the attendance clipboard around silently. Sign in.
Write your name in your book.

4. Interviewing: First Steps
For your first assessment, you will be writing a narrative of an interview you conduct. We will give more information later, but today we are going to start with looking at what good interview questions look like.
Turn to page 25 of your SpringBoard.
We will practice with Direct and Indirect Quotations… but first we need to look at how to write good interview questions.
Let’s start with writing questions of things you might like to know about someone you don’t know.
Good questions are Open-ended, meaning they encourage more than simple “yes” or “no” answers.
Fix the examples on page 25.
