Austin (TX) Alumni Chapter Investment Plan October Chapter Update

2 Primary focus of the Investment committee will be to raise funds with minimal support from event planning Four Strategic Investment Pillars ($) Approach to hitting the plans 17,500 17,500 Planned Actual/Pledge Dell Match Program Contributions to AKELF 11 Dell Nupes have pledged Total amount pledged Oct-Sep is $17,500 (includes Match) Requests for support must be submitted through AKELF for for GR/KL and Community Service events. One weekend per month is Brotherly Love weekend 12 weekends per year (4 planned events with Sil/Sweetheart; 8 brotherly events (happy hour, etc) For 8 brotherly events, brothers donate $5 to the kitty to be placed back into the exchequer and used to support budgeted events. Goal is 10 brothers per event ($50) Brotherly events conducted same weekend as chapter meeting. One COTA event ($1,200 based on historicals) UT fundraising partnership Vending opportunities at Erwin Center through Sodexo/1883 Provision Co Ushering opportunities through UT Austin 10,150 7,800 (AKELF Partnership) Brotherly Love COTA (AKELF Partnership) Investments *Earned revenue does not reflect any proceeds earned from quarterly events with Sil/Sweethearts.

3 University of Texas Opportunity #1 – vending opportunities with Sodexo (1883 Provision Co)
Starting to staff basketball now, and will have openings for most days of the week and on weekends. Primarily an adult fundraiser (Minors 16 and over may volunteer with adults present.) TABC is highly recommended because the stands with alcohol typically sell more product. Fewer opportunities if we choose not to sell alcohol. Insurance is required. Can current IHQ insurance cover? Will need to have liquor liability insurance A subrogation waiver Additionally insured clause *This can be a little pricey, 1883 can help. Refer to and see how much the quote is. Must be 501©3…AKELF partnership required. Basketball Vending Opportunities Men’s Basketball has 20 home games (Monday, Nov 5th through Saturday, Mar 9th) Women’s Basketball has 17 home games (Sunday, Oct 28th through Saturday, Mar 2nd)

University of Texas Opportunity #2 - ushering at the DKR-Memorial Stadium, Frank Erwin Center, etc Must be 16 yrs or older Each person will be paid $8 per hour. (Check mailed to group ~30 days after the event) Shifts last 5-7 hrs (football will last 8.5 hrs, unless OT) Meals provided depending on how long a person works; groups will be informed. Uniform: Tan shorts/ pants for outdoor events (black pants/skirt for indoor events), comfortable, closed-toed shoes (clean tennis shoes).  A shirt will be provided and must be returned at the end of the shift.  Small flashlight (like a mini Maglite). Forms required: Waiver form filled out and sign (with a handwritten signature) Memo regarding evacuations, filled out and signed (also, with a handwritten signature) One of the following two: Process:  will be sent out looking for help, if it is needed; no calendar of events to plan for. Generally, it will be football games, some concerts, and track and field events (April and May). Permanent staff has 3 days before an event to decide whether to work or not, so notification is short-notice…first come, first served. ** They do not anticipate needing help until 2018 football season.**
