1 Which organizer should I use?

2 Directions: 1. Fold your paper into 4 squares, and then put your name in the first square. Number the boxes 1-8 2. In each square, you are going to be writing down the following for each prompt given to you: -Name of the organizer you would use -A thumbnail sketch of that organizer -One sentence telling why you would use that organizer to write on that prompt. 3. Remember, there really is not a wrong or right answer.

3 Prompt #1 Some say that letter writing and cursive writing are lost arts. Do these arts have value in today’s society? Should they be preserved?

4 Prompt #2 A crusade is a campaign to change something. What makes Malala Yousafzai a crusader? What impact has her crusade had?

5 Prompt #3: Compare the early spice trade to the modern flavor industry. What is similar? What is different?

6 Prompt #4: In what ways can the extraordinary natural event of a meteorite landing on Earth affect people? Think about how it can affect individuals as well as communities.

7 Prompt #5: Kristin Lewis writes, “Dealing with cancer isn’t just about battling to survive. It’s also about learning to cope with a whole new life.” How has Lauren’s life changed because of her cancer diagnosis? How has she coped with the challenges she has faced?

8 Prompt #6: Doctors and scientists are working hard to stop superbugs. But they aren’t the only ones who can help. Write an essay explaining three ways you can help in the fight against superbugs.

9 Prompt #7: How can hairstyles express an idea or a value? Why would people be threatened by a hairstyle?

10 Prompt #8: Predictions about the future reveal a lot about us— about our values, our worries, and our hopes and dreams. Based on the texts, what do our visions of the future say about us?
