My Site Personal site provided to every student, faculty, or staff member. /personal/ OneDrive for Business Personal cloud storage where you can store and share up to 1 TB of personal data. Can share externally *Sharing a folder requires person to sign in with KU Online ID or Microsoft Account Community Sites Topic-based sites that include members from across the university. /communities/ Document Libraries, Webpages, Lists, and More Can share with anyone at KU or external contacts with a Microsoft Account Team Sites Sites that include members at the university. /teams/

15 #1 Best Practice – Keep your permissions as simple as possible
Break inheritance as infrequently as possible. Use groups based on folder membership to assign permissions. Assign permissions at the highest possible level. Put documents that require fine-grained permissions in document libraries that are defined to support each group of permission.

17 CREATING A SUBSITE Creating a site
You must be a site owner of the site above where you want to create your subsite. Navigate to that site and then: Click on the Settings icon. Choose Site Contents. Check to make sure you don’t already have a subsite created. Click on New > Subsite Give the site a name, description and URL. Choose a template, whether to inherit (share) permissions or create unique (break) permissions, and whether to inherit the top navigation (global links).

The template is a starting point for your site. It determines which apps your site had, the basic configuration, and the site features that are turned on.
